overview
The darkroom view is where you develop your images. There are multiple ways to start developing an image in the darkroom:
- double-click an image in the lighttable view.
- use the keyboard shortcut (which by default is a D) from any view.
- click darkroom in the top banner from any view.
In the latter two methods, the image used will use the first selected image in the current lighttable view, or the first image in the current collection if no image is selected.
If the prioritize the hovered image over the selected images preference is selected then an image under the cursor in the lighttable, filmstrip, or map will be the one opened in the darkroom, regardless of other selections.
The center panel contains the image currently being edited.
๐zoom
Middle-click on the center panel cycle between “fit to screen”, 1:1 and 2:1 zoom.
Alternatively you can zoom by scrolling with your mouse or touchpad. When the constrain darkroom zoom between screen fit and 100% preference is enabled, scroll-wheel and pinch-to-zoom is constrained to the range between screen fit (zoom out) and 100% (zoom in). Hold Ctrl while zooming to temporarily lift the limit and zoom beyond 100%. When the preference is disabled, zoom is never constrained and the additional Ctrl key press is not needed to zoom beyond 100% .
๐touchpad
If the enable touchpad gestures in darkroom preference is enabled, then touchpad scroll gestures can be used:
- pinch with two fingers to zoom
- scroll with two fingers to pan
